‘I don’t think it’s safe to be around vaccinated teachers:’ man sues Gov. Inslee over COVID

(OLYMPIA, Wash.) — An anti-vaxer out of Cowlitz County is asking the State Supreme Court to immediately end the state of emergency as declared by Governor Inslee.

Peter Walton, who has previously sued over COVID restrictions and mandates, was granted a hearing in front of the Court Commissioner in which he argued that the Governor should be forced to lift the state of emergency before October 31st.

Inslee set that date in order to give hospitals time get back into compliance after certain requirements were waived to increase medical staffing during the pandemic.

But during the hearing, Walton made outlandish claims about COVID and the vaccine, even going so far as to say, “I don’t think it’s safe for my child right now to be around all these teachers that have been injected with these gene therapy products.” He even falsely claimed that masks and the vaccine do not prevent the spread of the disease.

The Court Commissioner, who will decide if the case is to move forward, appeared unmoved by Walton’s arguments. A decision is expected some time next week.
