Freezing fog and a steep slope contributed to a 30-vehicle pileup east of Ellensburg that has shut down all eastbound lanes of I-90. State Trooper Collin Cumaravel told NW Newsradio 12 of the crashed vehicles were semis, including one that tipped over spilling a cargo of apples.
It happened at eastbound I-90 Milepost 115, roughly 16 miles east of Ellensburg.
Cumaravel says one of the drivers of the apple-spilling semi injured his back and ribs. In all, he says, 3 injured victims were transported for treatment. As of 8:00 a.m. the closure of eastbound lanes was expected to last 10-12 hours
