Your bus line might be disrupted for a few more weeks as King County Metro works to fix a mechanical issue with some of its buses.
Metro pulled 126 buses off the roads after drivers reported steering they say felt “loose”, which turned out to be a problem with the “double tilt steering column” Metro’s Al Sanders says the drivers described as “a wobble”.
12 of those buses have already been repaired, but supply chain disruptions mean it’ll take time to get parts for the other 114, so Sanders says those buses will be out-of-service indefinitely until bus builder, New Flyer, can get the parts to Metro. New Flyer hasn’t responded to our inquiry, but it does have people working with Metro mechanics to get these buses fixed.
In the meantime, Sanders says all the coaches on the road have been inspected and are safe.
Between this issue and the snow, he recommends using all of Metro’s online tools.
