Efforts to save iconic Tacoma church coming to a head

The Vatican supports citizen group efforts to safe Tacoma's Holy Rosary Church from demolition

A decision is expected soon whether to tear down Tacoma's iconic Holy Rosary Catholic Church, or restore it for public use.

Catholic parish and community members have been battling five years to save landmark Holy Rosary Church and school from demolition. A plan to restore the building into a community center for all is supported by the Vatican.  The decision rests with the Seattle Catholic Archdiocese.
