Why your pup might be leaving a full bowl

dog bowl

If you’re a pet parent, you know just how picky our furry friends can be. But if your pup refuses to eat, it might be more than just fussiness. A sudden drop in appetite could signal illness. Dental issues are another common cause, as pain can make chewing difficult. Even a recent move or change in environment can affect your dog’s eating habits. If the problem persists, it’s best to consult your vet.

On the human side of things, snacking smart is key—especially if salty cravings hit. Instead of reaching for chips, try healthier options like nuts, which pack healthy fats, fiber, protein, and magnesium. String cheese is another great choice—rich in calcium and lean protein. Craving something crunchy? Popcorn can be a low-sodium, high-fiber treat when made without excess butter and salt. Spice it up with cumin, paprika, or chili powder for extra flavor without the sodium.

And for those looking to manage blood sugar naturally, dietitians recommend focusing on complex carbohydrates such as beans, fruits, and whole grain bread. These foods help prevent blood sugar spikes. Adding more fiber and low glycemic index options like cashews, figs, and pomegranates can also support better blood sugar control.
