Johnson signed the Voting Rights Act, a landmark law ending racially discriminatory voting practices in the U.S. In 1972, Hank Aaron smashed his 660th and 661st home runs, surpassing Babe Ruth for the most with a single club. Fast forward to 1986, Timothy Dalton was announced as the fourth James Bond. In 2000, rapper Ice-T joined the cast of Law & Order: SVU as a detective. A decade later, in 2012, NASA’s Mars Rover Curiosity touched down in the Gale Crater.
