September 24.  On this day in history: In 1906, President Theodore Roosevelt designated Devil’s Tower in Wyoming as the first U.S. national monument. In 1960, the Navy launched its first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the U.S.S. Enterprise, from Newport News, Virginia. A year later, in 1961, The Bullwinkle Show premiered on NBC, bringing Rocky and Bullwinkle to primetime TV. In 1968, 60 Minutes debuted on CBS, eventually becoming the longest-running news magazine. Fast forward to 2003, Arnold Schwarzenegger joined his first political debate during California’s recall election. In 2019, Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced an impeachment inquiry into President Trump, alleging misuse of foreign power. In music history, Nirvana’s landmark album Nevermind dropped in 1991.
