September 12.  On this day in history, it was a big one for TV premieres. In 1954, Lassie debuted on CBS, and five years later in 1959, Bonanza hit the airwaves on NBC. Then in 1966, The Monkees made their television debut, bringing music and comedy to living rooms across America. Fast forward to 1992, Dr. Mae Jemison became the first African-American woman in space aboard the shuttle Endeavor. In 2012, Apple introduced the world to the iPhone 5.
