Marina Rockinger
Marina has been on the air in the Seattle area for over 30 years – and is Afternoon Drive News Anchor for Northwest Newsradio KNWN
Over her career, she has been a news anchor, reporter, disk jockey, morning show co-host, and even made a former U.S. President laugh.
Hobbies: Loves to ride her motorcycle, gardening, Fun-Runs, hiking and mountain climbing, travel, cooking, wine and beer tasting and watching football.
She is a Board Member for Team Survivor Northwest (an organization dedicated to empowering all women who have had a cancer diagnosis to THRIVE through fitness, education, and community.
Marina is also a breast cancer survivor. Ironically, she found out about her breast cancer 10 days after standing on the summit of Mt. Rainier after raising donations for the Climb to Fight Cancer in July of 2019.
Aaron Wright
Aaron Wright has more than a decade of experience working in newsrooms across the country and comes to Northwest News Radio after leading one of Seattle’s most watched news programs.
Aaron’s news career began in Washington, DC as a desk assistant learning the ropes of the business in NBC’s DC bureau mastering everything from manning the overnight assignment desk to working out of the White House.
A year and a half later, Aaron hit the road for Rockford, IL to take a position as a photographer and reporter for WREX. Aaron was promoted to weekend anchor and later morning anchor.
Next up was a stop in Knoxville, TN working for WBIR where Aaron covered everything from wildfires, plane crashes, and a Stanley Cup playoffs run.
Like Davy Crockett, Aaron packed up and left Tennessee for Texas taking a job with KENS 5 in San Antonio. There he worked as an investigative reporter and anchor, later being promoted to anchoring the station’s 5, 6, and 10pm broadcasts. During this time he covered the state’s Covid response, cultural stories, and breaking news.
After 3 years Aaron left San Antonio for Seattle to become an evening anchor for KIRO 7. Leading the station’s programming to excellent ratings while reporting on the fentanyl crisis and healthcare shortages across Western Washington.
Aaron now anchors drive time newscasts for Northwest Newsradio. You can hear Aaron and Marina Rockinger from 3pm to 7pm daily.
