SPOKANE – Public and active transportation users are invited to take part in the third session of community conversations surrounding the North Spokane Corridor’s final connection project.

MOSES LAKE – A scheduled inspection on Wednesday, Jan. 14 of the I-90 Hansen Road overpass (Exit 174) in Moses Lake has detected deterioration that requires emergency closure of the overpass. The closure is effective Saturday, Jan.

GLACIER – Emergency repairs to two sections of State Route 542 damaged by recent floods east of Glacier in northeast Whatcom County are expected to begin Monday, Jan. 19. Though eastbound and westbound traffic on the Mount

MAPLE FALLS – Emergency repairs are scheduled to begin Saturday, Jan. 17, on a culvert that usually allows Bruce Creek to flow beneath State Route 542 about 2 miles east of Maple Falls in Whatcom County.

CLE ELUM – The Bullfrog Road overpass above westbound Interstate 90 near Cle Elum is open to traffic following emergency repairs, ahead of schedule. The bridge was damaged by an over-height load in late October 2025.

In April 2025, we closed the 104-year-old State Route 165 Carbon River/Fairfax Bridge. At the time, our most recent inspections revealed one of the bridge’s support columns was bent and buckling. We also saw advanced deterioration in

SEATTLE – A wave of close to 1 million more passengers pushed Washington State Ferries’ 2025 ridership to 20.1 million. That’s a jump of 5% from 19.1 million the previous year.

CARBONADO – The Washington State Department of Transportation has published the final planning study report that addresses access across the Carbon River Canyon.

SEATTLE – The largest active highway preservation effort in Washington state will enter its second year of construction beginning as early as the weekend of Jan. 9-12, with a full closure of northbound Interstate 5 to establish
