(SEATTLE) It could be a lot easier for more Washingtonians to visit Canada beginning October 1st.

A government source has revealed Canada’s vaccine requirement for all foreign visitors is about to disappear.

This source has been quoted by every news agency in Canada as saying that country’s vaccine requirement to enter ends September 30th, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to offer more details soon.

A former airline COO tells Global News its about time, as Canada was one of the last remaining countries to require visitors from other nation’s to be vaccinated against COVID-19. He says last week, Australia and New Zealand dropped the requirement, and that Europe hasn’t had a vaccine requirement for quite some time.

The U-S still requires vaccines for international visitors, and it’s not known when we might change our policy.

Passengers at Vancouver International Airport seem comfortable with Canada’s plan.

“I think its about time,” one woman said.

“I think it’s the right time because people feel more comfortable,” another passenger said.

There’s no clarification yet if Americans will still have to use the “Arrive CAN” app before entering Canada at land border crossings.
