November 24.  On this day in 1859, Charles Darwin published his groundbreaking theory of evolution in On the Origin of Species. In 1954, the first presidential aircraft was officially christened Air Force One. In 1973, Ringo Starr earned his first number-one single on the U.S. chart with “Photograph.” Three years earlier in 1971, hijacker Dan Cooper—better known as D.B. Cooper—parachuted from a Northwest Airlines 727 over Washington state with $200,000 in ransom and was never seen again.
