(OLYMPIA, Wash.) — Washington Governor Jay Inslee received a positive result from a rapid antigen test on Wednesday, according to his office.
Inslee says he is experiencing ‘very mild symptoms’ including a slight cough. “[I] am most glad I’m vaccinated and boosted,” Inslee said. ” I hope others consider getting their booster because it is very effective in preventing serious illness.”
Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck has also tested positive. “I’m working from home and experiencing mild but unpleasant symptoms, similar to a bad head cold,” Heck said in a statement.
Heck has begun a regimen of Paxlovid, an anti-viral drug approved by the FDA for treatment of COVID-19. Inslee’s office says he too will begin anti-viral treatment.
Governor Inslee is 71 years old. Heck is 69.
