(SEATTLE) There’s been a fourth plea in the case prosecutors say a group of white supremacists beat a black DJ at a Lynnwood bar back in 2018.
The men came from all over the Northwest, gathering at the bar to mark what they refer to as “Martyrs Day,” or the day a white supremacist died in a shootout with federal agents on Whidbey Island.
A black DJ was working inside the bar they selected for their gathering. The white men confronted the DJ, yelled racial slurs, then beat him unconscious.
To date, three of the men have plead guilty to hate crimes charges and for making false statements to police.
The latest plea comes from Jason Stanley, who traveled from Boise, Idaho that day for the so-called party. He’s also pleaded guilty to hate crime and lying charges, saying at first he was out of state when the incident happened.
No one has been sentenced yet, but the hate crime charge alone carries up to 10 years in prison.
