(SEATTLE) An FEC filing reveals a podcaster with a history of making racist and antisemitic statements was hired by the Washington Republican Party this past summer.
And once his history was discovered, his services were terminated.
A spokesperson for the state GOP says a field director hired podcaster Greyson Arnold. The same spokesperson, Ben Gonzalez, writes in a statement ”When the Washington State Republican Party became aware of this individual staffer’s conduct and views expressed on social media, we terminated the employee. He no longer works for the party.”
It appears he was on the GOP payroll for about a week.
Arnold has already been suspended from Twitter for his views. CNN writes about Arnold’s comments supporting White Nationalism, and that the U.S. fought on the “wrong side” during World War 2. According to the Times, Arnold posted a photo in April from a fundraising event for the King County Republican Party, saying he was there “after a personal invite.”
Mathew Patrick Thomas, the chair of the King County party, said he had “no clue who this guy is,” adding “we don’t have anything to do with that crap.”
