(SEATTLE, Wash.) — Leesa Manion has taken office as King County’s chief law enforcement officer.
Manion was sworn in Monday afternoon in Seattle.
In her inaugural speech, Manion said public safety needs to include both responding to crime and treatment for those who have mental health or substance abuse problems.
She takes over from Dan Satterberg, the long-time prosecuting attorney, who retired last year.
