Rep Rick Larsen addresses Chinese balloon and other objects flying over US

Rep. Rick Larsen (D-WA) talks with Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell about federal transportation money ahead of talking about UFOs over the US

A local member of Congress says he agrees with the strategy when it comes to the unidentified flying objects seen over the U.S.

Congressman Rick Larsen says he believes the objects that have been shot down over areas where it’s safe to do so is the right move because they’ve been at altitudes that could cause safety and security issues for airplanes in controlled airspace.

The North end Democrat says he also favors allowing the Chinese balloon to float across the country for the opportunity to determine what it was and what it was up to.  “If they just shot that thing down too soon, it’s possible we would not have been able to develop any information that it would have gathered if it’s useful or not,” Larsen says, “Subsequently, these other objects, they haven’t been identified as from China, they haven’t been identified as balloons.  They have been identified as uncrewed flying objects, and they’ve been flying lower in our airspace.”

Larsen says, bottom line, we can’t tolerate and should act on any threat to U-S skies and that by downing these objects, we send a clear message to the world that we won’t put up with any foreign country or entity sending objects into our airspace.

Our U.S. Senators are due to receive another classified briefing Tuesday morning.
