A24 has unveiled a teaser for Marty Supreme, which is, of all things, a midcentury ping-pong dramedy starring Timothée Chalamet as the ambitious Marty Mauser, who'll stop at nothing to chase greatness. The trailer also introduces Gwyneth Paltrow in her first non-Marvel film since 2015, portraying a movie star entangled with “the Ping-Pong mafia” in what appears to be a complex, partly transactional relationship. With its quirky cast— including Tyler, the Creator, Kevin O’Leary, and Fran Drescher, the film has a holiday release set for this Christmas.
And Derek Hough has been tapped as the new host of the entertainment newsmagazine Extra, stepping in following Billy Bush’s announced departure at the end of the current season. The show will move into its 32nd season with a familiar star at the helm starting September 8th on NBC.
