Ben Stiller is severing ties with his directing responsibilities on Severance. Stiller has directed 11 episodes of the Apple TV+ series across its first two seasons. He is stepping back from directing due to his packed schedule, which includes projects such as a World War II survival film, a Meet the Parents sequel, and other creative endeavors. He remains involved as an executive producer on Severance and continues to be part of the planning process alongside showrunner Dan Erickson.
One of those creative endeavors being pursued by Stiller is an Apple Original Film called The Dink, a sports comedy following a former tennis pro who turns to pickleball. Ben Stiller will appear in the cast and serve as an executive producer. The ensemble also includes Mary Steenburgen, Ed Harris, and Chloe Fineman. A release date is still to be announced.
