Issaquah love affair with hatchery and salmon

Since 1993 the non-profit Friends of Issaquah Salmon Hatchery have been educators and stewards of an important chinook and coho population.  One of the state’s oldest salmon hatcheries is celebrated during Issaquah Salmon Days.

Also, on Puget Sound Now, we discover why Redondo Beach in south King County has one of the largest six gill shark populations in the world.

Slam on the Sound at Renton Community Center features some of the top wheelchair rugby athletes in the United States.  The demanding sport gives people with spinal cord injuries and other physical challenges an emotional lift and camaraderie.
