Life Jackets critical to safe water recreation in Washington State

Life jackets only work if you wear them.  That’s a key message from both the U.S. Coast Guard and Washington State Parks and Recreation boating safety experts.  In a new Puget Sound Now, the number of people using paddle crafts are way up in the Evergreen State.  Unfortunately, so are drownings, especially during May and June when lakes and rivers are still very cold.   May is Stop the Bleed month.  Know the proper ways to help a family member or friend from bleeding out.  Learn how to support a non-profit providing service dogs to people with disabilities.
