Roberts issues veiled warning to Trump, others

(WASHINGTON, DC) – In his annual report on the federal judiciary, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote, “Every Administration suffers defeats in the court system […] Nevertheless, for the past several decades, the decisions of the courts, popular or not, have been followed.”

But he continued, “Within the past few years, however, elected officials from across the political spectrum have raised the specter of open disregard for federal court rulings. These dangerous suggestions, however sporadic, must be soundly rejected.”

This as a wave of litigation is expected once Mr. Trump takes office, and his incoming VP has suggested ignoring rulings he doesn’t
