In 2014, CVS took a bold public health step, becoming the first major retail pharmacy to stop selling tobacco products. And in 2019, Walmart announced it would stop selling handguns and certain types of ammunition. Just last year, in 2024, Phoenix hit its 100th consecutive day of triple-digit heat.
