November 5.  On this day in history, 1935 saw the launch of the classic board game Monopoly by Parker Brothers, forever changing family game nights. In 1946, Boston Celtics player Chuck Connors made history as the first NBA athlete to shatter a backboard during a game—before later finding fame as the star of television’s The Rifleman. Six years later, in 1994, George Foreman became the oldest heavyweight boxing champion by knocking out Michael Moorer in the tenth round in Las Vegas. In 1996, President Bill Clinton secured a second term after defeating Bob Dole. By 2009, Fireflies by Owl City was the number one song in America, while in 2011, a decayed tooth once belonging to John Lennon sold at auction for over $31,000.
