Oregonian by birth, radio vagabond by choice, Rich Johnson is a multi-decade veteran of radio newsrooms from coast to coast. His network stops include ABC, CNN and Westwood One. He spent four years covering Presidents Bush and Obama as Fox News Radio’s original White House Correspondent, then shifted to Senior National Correspondent – trading in Air Force One for sudden flights on bouncy commuter planes chasing hurricanes, coal mine disasters, trials and campaigns. He’s also reported and anchored for legendary stations WTOP in Washington, WMAQ in Chicago, KEX in Portland and KIRO in Seattle. Rich has spent the past few years in Las Vegas, enjoying the sun and enduring the, well, sun. He continues to produce the “Food and Loathing” podcast, which focuses on the Vegas restaurant scene. He’s also a contributor to “America in the Morning,” heard every morning on Northwest News Radio. Rich is a proud Oregon Duck but has been known to cheer for the Huskies. He’s also a Seattle Seahawks since Zorn was throwing to Largent, and has commemorative bricks at T-Mobile Park and Emirates Stadium in London, home of Arsenal. Moving to Seattle for the third time in his life, Rich expects to spend a lot of time doing The Slog to Portland to visit his daughter, sisters, nieces and nephews. He’ll also be relaxing on Queen Anne Hill with The Notorious BGC (Big Gray Cat).
